Following Fitbit Air's release earlier this year, leaked promotional materials have unmasked Google's next fitness tracker, the Fitbit Edge. The leak sheds light on its design, features and hardware, revealing key details much ahead of its launch.
Fitbit Charge's Successor Is Coming
Android Headlines has revealed official-looking images of the Fitbit Edge from all angles. The leak also includes the fitness tracker's colours and a sheet comparing it to the Fitbit Air and Pixel Watches, giving us a glimpse of what to expect.

Design-wise, the Edge adopts an elongated, oval-shaped screen with dual side buttons and a pinch-to-swap band mechanism. It also borrows aesthetics from the Pixel 11 series, with colours including Obsidian, Olive and Crayon (Orange)
Internally, the tracker is expected to include GPS and automatic workout detection. Like Fitbit Air, it will be compatible with both Android and iOS, and the Google Health app will tie all the fitness-centric features together.
The tracker won't run Wear OS like the latest Pixel Watch 5, but will support micro-apps such as Google Maps, Find My Phone and YouTube Music. It will also alert users to notifications, something the Fitbit Air cannot do.

Lastly, the comparison document also reveals that the Edge can last for 7 days on a single charge, the same as the Fitbit Air. This should mean that it will pack a slightly larger cell to power the display, but the exact capacity is currently unknown.
While the exact launch date is currently unknown, Android Headlines suggests Google is rushing to get the tracker onto retail shelves later this October. As for the pricing, the Fitbit Edge could cost in the ballpark of $149 to $199 (approx. Rs 14,000 to Rs 19,000).
Like the Fitbit Air, the wearable should first arrive in the US. India release may come later this year, considering Google launched the Fitbit Air in India. More information about the tracker should be revealed as we inch closer to launch, so stay tuned.
