Google has been lately leveraging Gemini AI to add new features to Google Photos, like conversational AI image editing and AI Touch-Up tools. The search giant is now making the Google Photos app even more functional with a new Video Remix feature on Android and iPhone.

Google Photos Can Now Remix Your Videos With AI

As per the latest Google blog post, Google Photos is rolling out a Video Remix feature, which is powered by Gemini Omni, the brand's latest AI image and video generation model. The feature will be accessible inside the Google Photos app's Create tab and allows users to give plain videos a fun touch-up using AI.

The tool offers various AI-generated options like cinematic relighting to brighten up a dark clip, background replacement with AI-generated scenes and applying artistic styles, like watercolours, sketchbook and oil painting.

Google has shared three stylisation options that users can try – Paint my video in a dreamy watercolour, Relight my video with a morning glow and Set my video in a Greenhouse. At the time of writing, it seems that the Video Remix options are pre-set, like what Google already offers with Photo Remix. It is unclear if users will be able to add their own stylisation prompts.

To access the Video Remix feature, users will need to be subscribed to either Google AI Plus, Google AI Pro or the Google AI Ultra plan. It is available on Android and iPhone versions of the Google Photos app, as well as iPad users, in countries like India, the US, Argentina, Brazil, Bangladesh, Colombia, Egypt, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Korea and Turkey.
