The worsening global memory shortage is now hitting existing Pixel smartphones. After bumping up the price of the Google Pixel 11 series at launch, the Pixel 10a is next on the chopping block. The budget-friendly smartphone has received a Rs 6,000 and $100 hike globally.
The Google Pixel 10a's 8 GB + 256 GB variant now costs Rs 55,999, a whopping Rs 6,000 more than its initial launch price of Rs 49,999. Folks in the US have been hit harder with a $100 hike for the base 8 GB + 128 GB variant, coming at an eye-watering $599 (approx. Rs 58,000). Interestingly, the price hike hasn't been reflected on Flipkart, where the phone is still listed for Rs 49,999.

Pixel 10a's 256 GB variant in the US has been revised to $699 (approx. Rs 68,000). This is the first time a Pixel in India costs a full Rs 13,000 less than its US price after direct conversion. Historically, Pixels in India have always cost more than their US counterparts.
This appears to be a direct result of Google's local manufacturing, allowing the firm to significantly reduce import costs while also helping it export its smartphone globally. Regardless, this direct price increase isn't a great sight for consumers in either market.
That said, though, interested buyers in India might still be able to bag the Pixel 10a for cheaper, considering the upcoming sale season is almost upon us. Flipkart has listed an effective price of Rs 39,999, which buyers can avail by getting Rs 4,000 off on device exchange and an additional Rs 4,000 off on bank offers.
However, since the phone has freshly received a price hike, Flipkart could walk back on the offer terms and revise the end offer price to reflect a new discounted price. More information should be revealed soon, so stay tuned.
