Google has expanded its audio lineup with the launch of the Pixel Buds 2a, a more affordable pair of wireless earbuds that still pack premium features like active noise cancellation and Gemini AI integration. The earbuds are now available for preorder and will hit shelves starting October 9, 2025.
Pixel Buds 2a Specifications and Features
The Pixel Buds 2a are powered by Google’s Tensor A1 chip, bringing smarter audio processing and hands-free access to Gemini AI for tasks such as summaries, recommendations and real-time assistance.

The earbuds also bring along Silent Seal 1.5 Active Noise Cancellation, alongside a transparency mode for improved situational awareness.

Design-wise, the Buds 2a closely resembles the flagship Pixel Buds Pro 2, but comes in Google’s lightest and most compact form factor yet.
They feature a twist-to-adjust stabiliser for a more secure fit and are bundled with four eartip sizes. The buds carry an IP54 water and dust resistance rating, while the charging case is rated IPX4.

Battery life is equally competitive, offering up to 7 hours of playback with ANC enabled or up to 10 hours without ANC. With the case, the earbuds can last up to 20 hours. A quick 5-minute charge delivers around an hour of use.

Notably, Google has also added user-replaceable batteries in the charging case, a first for its A-series earbuds, improving long-term repairability and sustainability.
Pixel Buds 2a Price in India and Sale Date
The Pixel Buds 2a are priced at Rs 12,999 in India, slightly higher than previous A-series earbuds but justified by the expanded feature set. The earbuds come in the Hazel and Iris colourways.
Preorders are live today, with shipping and in-store availability beginning October 9, 2025.
With AI smarts, active noise cancellation and a focus on comfort and longevity, the Pixel Buds 2a are easily one of Google’s strongest A-series audio releases to date.
