Google has begun rolling out its August 2026 software update for Pixel phones. While it's a fairly low-key release overall, it does bring a handful of fixes worth knowing, especially if you're on a Pixel 10.
What's New in the August 2026 Pixel Update
The most notable fixes in this update are primarily aimed at the Pixel 10 series. Google has addressed certain game-related crashes on these Pixel phones. Alongside, the tech giant has also addressed a handful of GPU and touchscreen issues that Pixel 10 owners had been running into.
Beyond that, the update also patches a high-severity security vulnerability tied to the phones' video processing unit, as per the accompanying Pixel Security Bulletin. Google hasn't shared many specifics about the vulnerability itself, which is fairly standard practice for security patches until they've had time to roll out broadly.
Now, there are two versions of the latest August Pixel update rolling out depending on region and carrier. Most phones will receive the global build, bumping them to version CP2A.260805.005, while devices sold through Canadian carrier Rogers will move to version CP2A.260805.005.A1 instead.

Which Pixel Phones Are Getting the August 2026 Update
The August update is rolling out to the following phones:
- Google Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8a (global variant only)
- Google Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Pixel 9a
- Google Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, Pixel 10a
Notably absent from that list are the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 series, despite Google's own five-year software support policy suggesting both should still be within their update window. Going by that, the Pixel 6 should be covered through October this year and the Pixel 7, for a year beyond that.
Another surprising thing to note is that Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel 8a units sold specifically through Rogers in Canada also appear to be excluded from this particular update. Google hasn't clarified why that's the case at the time of writing.
Users can check for the update by heading over to Settings -> System -> Software Updates.
Google says the update is rolling out in phases starting today, so it may take a little while to reach every eligible Pixel phone.
So, if you own one of the phones listed above and are running Android 17, keep an eye on your software update settings over the next few days.
