The biggest difference between the School Edition and the regular HMD 105 4G is what it leaves out. The phone does not have a web browser, pre-installed games or a voice recorder.

That means students can make calls and send messages but cannot use the phone for web browsing or even play the classic Snake game found on many feature phones.

HMD has also added PIN-protected parental controls. Parents can use these controls to disable features such as Bluetooth, MMS and the FM radio, giving them more control over how the phone can be used.

The HMD 105 4G School Edition retains the key specifications of the standard HMD 105 4G. It features a 2.4-inch QVGA display with a 240 x 320-pixel resolution, along with 64 MB of RAM and 128 MB of internal storage. Storage can be expanded by up to 32 GB using a microSD card.

Connectivity includes 2G, 3G and 4G, while Bluetooth 5.0 is available but can be disabled through the parental controls. The phone also gets a USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

A removable 1,450mAh battery powers the HMD 105 4G School Edition, with the brand claiming up to 15 days of standby time. The phone can store up to 2,000 contacts and also includes a dual-LED flashlight.

HMD has yet to reveal the price or availability details for the 105 4G School Edition. So, hopefully, we'll get to know those details in the coming days.
