Summary

  • Honor has started teasing the Honor 500 and the 500 Pro for China.
  • Both phones share an iPhone Air-like camera bar, a Camera Control like side button and a slim body.
  • Expected specs include an AMOLED display, MagicOS 10 and Snapdragon processors.

Back in May 2025, the Honor 400 series went official in China. Now, after just seven months, the brand is already prepared to launch the Honor 500 lineup and has officially started teasing the Honor 500 and the 500 Pro smartphones.

Honor 500 series draws inspiration from the latest iPhone Air

The official Honor handle on Weibo posted the teaser image of the Honor 500 series. It has revealed the lineup in a powder blue colourway with a brushed aluminium mid-frame and quite possibly a glass back. On the right side, both the Honor 500 and the 500 Pro appear to have an extra button, which could very well function like the Camera Control button on iPhones.

Now, while the above teaser image has not given us a glimpse into the smartphone's design, a separate Weibo post has revealed the entire back design of both phones. At first glance, the teased phone (possibly the Honor 500) looks exactly like the iPhone Air but with an extra camera.

It features the same vertical edge-to-edge pill-shaped camera bar with a dual camera setup. The island is also home to the LED flash and another black cutout, possibly the light sensor. However, unlike the iPhone Air, the Honor 500 is more boxy. It has a flat aluminium mid-frame unlike the iPhone Air's curved titanium frame. Moreover, the corner radius of the 500 series is less compared to the iPhone Air.

As for their official specifications, Honor is yet to reveal the hardware the 500 series will pack. It does say that the phones will "boast superior configurations, delivering a dual-superior experience". Both phones are also said to go big when it comes to performance and battery life.

This makes sense since the recent Honor 500 Geekbench listing revealed the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor for the smartphone. It is already a massive jump generation-wise if we compare it to the Honor 400 which features the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip. Moreover, the 500 Pro is said to gain the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Hence, if true, both phones will undoubtedly be powerful enough even if they miss out on the latest Qualcomm chips.

Aside from that, expect both phones to bring a 1.5K 120 Hz OLED display, above 8,000mAh battery, 80W fast charging support, MagicOS 10, a 200 MP main camera on the 500 Pro and a 50 MP selfie camera to the table.
