Honor Magic 8 Pro Air Launched with 6.1mm thickness

Ultra-thin smartphones have long been associated with compromises, especially when it comes to battery endurance and cameras. Honor appears to have solved both with the Magic 8 Pro Air, which has launched in China. The iPhone Air-inspired Honor Magic 8 Pro Air measures just 6.1mm in thickness and packs a large battery with triple rear cameras.

The Honor Magic 8 Pro Air also features a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate, which can get as bright as 6,000 nits. For security, the phone also uses a super-fast ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

To make binge-watching content all the more enjoyable, the phone also flaunts dual stereo speakers. Honor hasn't compromised build quality either, with the phone being IP68/69 rated.

Honor has packed in MediaTek's latest Dimensity 9500 processor, paired with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1 TB of UFS 4.1 storage. Powering the internals, despite its slim size, is a 5,500mAh Silicon-Carbon battery that can charge at 80W wired and 50W wirelessly. Besides, weighing just 155 grams, the smartphone is lighter than the iPhone Air, which weighs around 165 grams.

The no-compromises theme continues with the optics. The phone features a triple camera setup, consisting of a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP ultrawide camera, and a 64 MP dedicated periscope telephoto lens with a 3.2x optical zoom. The front camera is a 50 MP snapper.

Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, IR Blaster and a USB 2.0 Type-C port.

The Honor Magic 8 Pro Air price in China starts from 4,999 Chinese yuan (approximately Rs 65,000) for the base 12 GB + 256 GB variant. However, the phone also comes in the 12 GB + 512 GB, 16 GB + 512 GB and 16 GB + 1 TB configurations.

As for its availability, the smartphone will go on sale in China starting January 23, 2026, via the Honor China storefront. It will be available in Fairy Purple, Shadow Black, White and Light Orange colourways.
