Honor's next clamshell foldable smartphone, the Magic V Flip 2 has been circulating in the rumour mill for quite some time now. With the expected launch of the smartphone fast approaching, the latest development hints at the alleged battery mAh the device is expected to pack.
Credible tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) took to Weibo to reveal the battery capacity of the Honor Magic V Flip 2. At 5,500mAh, Honor's next flip phone could very well become the biggest battery on a clamshell smartphone ever.
For context, the 2024 Honor Magic V Flip launched with a 4,800mAh cell. Even the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 features a 4,300mAh battery. Apart from its standout battery, Honor's clamshell foldable could also sport 80W fast USB-C charging.

This new development is in line with the previous Magic V Flip 2 battery leak that hinted at a substantially big battery capacity.
DCS also claims that the smartphone will launch in four colourways namely – Moon Shadow White, Titanium Sky Gray, Dawn Purple and Dream Blue. It will also likely retain the Magic V Flip design. This could indicate a large edge-to-edge 4-inch cover screen along with a foldable 6.8-inch Full HD+ LTPO OLED inner display.

Under the hood, as per an earlier claim made by DCS, the smartphone will either get the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset or the toned-down Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor.
Apart from this, not much is known about the Magic V Flip 2 at the time of writing. Honor has also not made the existence of the smartphone official. However, since the rumoured launch timeline is somewhere in August 2025 itself, we expect the Magic V Flip 2 to officially appear in teasers in the coming days.
