Honor has finally made its next book-style Magic V5 foldable official on July 2, 2025, in China. The brand claims it to be the "thinnest foldable in the world". Other specifications include the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, a 6,100mAh battery and more. So, let's have a look at the detailed specification, pricing and availability details for the smartphone.
Honor Magic V5 Specifications and Features
One of the standout features of the Magic V5 is its battery capacity. At 6,100mAh, the book-style foldable has the biggest battery capacity to offer in the foldable space currently. Even the recently launched Vivo X Fold 5 comes with a 6,000mAh battery. However, this battery capacity is only limited to the 1 TB variant of the device. All other variants pack a 5,820mAh battery.

In terms of charging, the device supports 66W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. It even comes with support for reverse wired and wireless charging.
Now coming to the display, the inner folding measures 7.95-inches and offers a 2K foldable 120 Hz 8T LTPO OLED panel. On the other hand, the outer display is a 6.43-inch 1.5K 120 Hz 8T LTPO OLED panel. Both displays offer up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness and Dolby Vision video playback.

Additionally, Honor claims that the inner display is protected by the brand's in-house Glory King Kong glass protector. Meanwhile, the brand is using its Giant Rhino Glass protection for the outer display, which protects the back panel as well.
While on the topic of protection, Honor claims that the Magic V5 is its "most durable foldable yet". This is because the brand is using something called the Luban Suspension Hinge, which is a durable steel frame that Honor claims has been tested for 500,000 folds. Additionally, the dual aerospace-grade fibreglass backplate is made of carbon fibre.
This has also made the smartphone thin and lightweight. At 4.1mm thickness when unfolded, Honor claims the Magic V5 to be the thinnest foldable launched to date. It also weighs 217 grams.

Moving on, there's a triple rear camera setup housed within a circular module with octagonal edges. It is home to a 50 MP primary sensor, another 50 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 64 MP 3x periscope telephoto lens with support for 100x digital zoom and OIS.

At the front, there are two 20 MP selfie cameras with an f/2.2 aperture – one on the outer display and the other on the inner screen.
Coming to performance, the Honor Magic V5 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Edition chipset, which is an overclocked variant of the regular 8 Elite. It can be paired with up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage.
In terms of software, the Magic V5 runs on MagicOS 9.0.1 based on Android 15. It comes with Honor's YOYO digital assistant with Deepseek R1 integration. Other than that, there are several foldable-based multitasking features along with seamless integration with the Honor ecosystem. The Magic V5 can also seamlessly integrate with Apple services and products like the Apple Watch, Apple cloud storage and more.

Apart from this, there is Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, 5G connectivity, GPS, NFC, Satellite-based communication and more. It even comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, IP58 + IP59 rating, stereo speakers, AI debris detection and a USB-C port.
