Huawei debuted the world's first triple-folding smartphone, the Mate XT Ultimate Design, back in 2024. Now, the brand is gearing up to launch the second iteration, Mate XTs Ultimate Design, in China on September 4, 2025.
Huawei took to its official Weibo account to confirm the launch date. The brand also revealed that there will be a dedicated launch event scheduled on said date at 2:30 PM CST (or 12:00 PM IST).

While the Chinese smartphone brand has not teased any of the official specification of the smartphone at the time of writing, it does say that "The triple-foldable phone is truly extraordinary". The brand has also added a discreet teaser of the smartphone with the same dual hinge triple folding design.
The Mate XTs is also expected to feature one big continuous OLED display that folds twice to reveal a single outer panel. It will likely fold in the shape of the alphabet "Z" and users will be able to use the smartphone in three different modes.

As for the other specifications, earlier leaks and rumours hinted at a 6,000+mAh battery for the smartphone along with support for HarmonyOS 5.1. Additionally, based on the teaser image looks like there will be a Purple colour option of the tri-fold this time around.
That said, we expect the Mate XTs Ultimate Design to bring noteworthy improvements over the Huawei's Mate XT. And with brand like Tecno and Samsung prepping their own tri-folds respectively, it will be interesting to see how the product category has matured, especially since this is the 2nd-gen version of the Mate XT.
