After the Huawei Pura X Max wide foldable launch earlier this year, the brand is now taking the format beyond foldables with the Pura X View. Instead of relying on a hinge to achieve its unusual proportions, the phone uses a 16:9.5 display on a regular slab phone body, while pairing it with a slim design and a massive battery.

Huawei Pura X View Specifications and Features

It is beyond a doubt that the key USP of the Huawei Pura X View is its display and form factor. The phone brings what the brand is calling the industry's first 16:9.5 wide-screen display. The panel measures 6.39 inches.

Huawei Pura X View offers an OLED panel with a 2232 x 1320 resolution, a 2,160 Hz PWM dimming frequency, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and 6,500 nits of peak brightness. Bezels around the display are also uniform and they measure just 1.05mm, bringing a 96.1% screen-to-body ratio.

In terms of design, the Pura X View looks just like the Huawei Pura X Max, except for the wide-folding hinge. The phone is 6.68mm thick and weighs just 201 grams. Huawei Pura X View will be sold in Shadow Red, Linen Grey, Zero White and Phantom Black colour options.

However, despite the slim body, Huawei has managed to fit a massive 7,000mAh battery inside, thanks to the wide nature of the smartphone. The brand has not revealed the charging speed of the Pura X View yet.

Coming to software, the Huawei Pura X View will become the first phone to ship with the stable HarmonyOS 7.0 update out of the box. The phone will feature Red Maple X-IMAGE triple rear cameras comprising a 50 MP main, 50 MP telephoto and a multi-spectral sensor.

Aside from these, Huawei did not reveal any other details about the Pura X View. Richard Yu, Chairman of Huawei's Consumer Business Group, confirmed that the phone will feature apps and systems optimised for the wide-screen aspect ratio.

As for pricing and availability, Huawei Pura X View will enter pre-orders in China starting on August 28, 2026. The brand will reveal the price of the phone on that date itself. So, stay tuned.
