iQOO recently confirmed the new futuristic design of the iQOO 16 and has now detailed the display specifications of the smartphone, jointly with Samsung Display.

The official iQOO Weibo account has revealed that the iQOO 16 will become the first Android phone to use Samsung's M16 OLED luminescent material, the latest generation of smartphone display panel from Samsung Display.

iQOO also claims a 100% first-frame brightness ratio for the iQOO 16, which it says is the highest in the industry. The smartphone can achieve a manual peak brightness of 1,100 nits, a global peak brightness of 2,800 nits and a local peak brightness of a whopping 10,000 nits.

Moreover, iQOO and Samsung Display have worked together to bring a 2K 165 Hz display for the iQOO 16, built on top of the M16 luminous material. The panel uses Samsung's new 2K LEAD 2.0 technology, bringing high resolution and a high refresh rate with considerably low operating power.

iQOO 16 Will Feature a Dedicated Touch Response Chip

Moving on, iQOO has also confirmed that the iQOO 16 will get a new touch chip with 5,000 Hz instantaneous sampling and 500 Hz multi-finger sampling. This will be paired with iQOO's Q-flex control technology to cut the delay between touch and response on screen.

The M16 panel on the iQOO 16 will cover 1.24 times the P3 gamut with screen-by-screen calibration at the factory. iQOO claims colour uniformity improved by 39.6% and brightness uniformity by 22.3% over the iQOO 15, with a colour accuracy figure of ±0.001.

Rest, the iQOO 16 display will support three photosensitive full-area light sensing zones: an unpolarised natural light display, full-brightness DC dimming, PWM dimming up to 3,300 Hz and a gaming glare protection mode.

That said, the iQOO 16 launch date is not confirmed yet. The brand has confirmed a September 2026 debut timeline and the exact launch date could be announced after the Snapdragon Summit event, since the phone is expected to ship with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor. So, stay tuned.
