iQOO is giving its next flagship a noticeably different look as the brand has now revealed the rear design of the iQOO 16 in its new “Chasing Light” colourway. It's a spacecraft-inspired finish with a holographic pattern that sets the upcoming flagship apart from previous iQOO phones.
iQOO 16 "Chasing Light" Colour Revealed
The official iQOO Weibo account posted an image of the iQOO 16, labelling it as a "three-shot navigation marker" design. Chasing Light seems to be this year's hero colourway, and the overall design is quite a departure from anything we've seen in the iQOO lineup yet.

While iQOO did not reveal any specifications, the teaser does reveal a few things. The square camera module at the back appears to be quite compact, with the three lenses sitting quite flush on an inner arrow-like structure.
There's a tiny 100x text on it, suggesting the phone will boast up to 100x zoom, which will likely be AI-enhanced digital zoom. The power and volume rockers appear to be on the right side with the back of the phone featuring zig-zag patterns illuminating in blue.

Specifications-wise, the IQOO 16 is expected to boast 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor and iQOO's dedicated Q4 gaming chip for better sustained frame rates. This could be complemented by a colossal 8,400mAh battery and IP68/69 ratings.
The front of the phone could boast a 6.85-inch 2K Samsung display with 165 Hz refresh rate. Optics-wise, the phone may boast a triple 50 MP camera array with a primary 1/1.3-inch sensor, an ultrawide snapper and a periscope telephoto. Memory-wise, there could be up to 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1 TB UFS 4.1 storage.
iQOO 16 is confirmed to launch this month, but we don't have the exact launch date yet. A recent iQOO 16 Geekbench listing also revealed that the phone could run OriginOS 7 based on Android 17 out of the box. More information about the phone should be revealed as we inch closer to launch, so stay tuned.
