iQOO 16 has appeared on Geekbench ahead of its expected October 2026 launch. Spotted with the internal codename Vivo V2606A, this listing gives us an early glimpse at the phone's performance.
iQOO 16 Scores Underwhelmingly on Geekbench
The iQOO 16 has been spotted on Geekbench 6 with a single-core score of 3,434 points and a multi-core score of 9,334 points. The listing also reveals 16 GB of RAM and Android 17, likely with OriginOS 7 running on top.
The core specifications include an octa-core setup with 2x Prime cores clocked at 5.01 GHz, 3x Performance cores clocked at 4.03 GHz and 3 efficiency cores clocked at 3.74 GHz. This, combined with previous iQOO 16 specification leaks, points to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 powering the smartphone.
That said, the performance seems to be on the lower side compared to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which scored 3,631 in single-core and 10,940 points in multi-core. However, the lower scores could be because the iQOO 16 is a pre-production unit.
While the hardware crosses the 5 GHz barrier on paper, backend telemetry shows the iQOO 16 spent the actual benchmark run hovering between 4.59 GHz and 4.60 GHz. The phone's inability to sustain its 5.01 GHz peak under load likely explains the lower multi-core output. Additionally, the backend data confirms the Adreno 850 GPU.
Curiously, the platform identifies the handset as "QTI SM8975". This is a notable spotting, as smartphone listings rarely broadcast the explicit processor model number so openly.
Considering that Qualcomm is expected to introduce up to five variants of its flagship processors, these SKU numbers could help immensely in distinguishing between them. Qualcomm will unveil two 8 Elite processors at the Snapdragon Summit on September 22, 2026, so stay tuned.
