Homegrown brand itel introduced the A90 smartphone back on May 14, 2025 in India. It launched as a sub-Rs 10,000 affordable device with specs like an LCD display, IP54 rating and more. Now, the brand is looking to re-introduce the smartphone in the country with an updated back design.
The information comes from what seems like a press release, details and images from which are now making the rounds on the internet. We draw our information from reliable tipster Anvin and tech publication Gizmochina, who have given us our first look at the refreshed itel A90 smartphone.
The upcoming device will bear the "itel A90 Limited Edition" moniker and will launch with a new back panel design.

However, Itel India's X handle posted a teaser very recently, which closely resembles the Itel A90's special edition.

As is evident from the above image and teaser, the squircle camera island that we saw with the itel A90 is now extended throughout the back to give an edge-to-edge feel. It is still glossy and carries the dual cameras. At first glance, the upcoming device resembles the yet-to-be-announced iPhone 17 Pro a lot.

Apart from this, looks like the new model will also gain a gold colour option apart from the existing silver and black hues. It still has an overall flat profile with flat edges. The back panel and the mid-frames will also likely get the plastic treatment just like the original itel A90.
Speaking of the smartphone's specifications, since the device has already launched, we expect the limited edition of the device to bear the following set of details:
- 6.6-inch HD+ 90 Hz LCD display with 480 nits of peak brightness.
- Unisoc T7100 processor
- 4 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of storage
- 13 MP main camera and 5 MP selfie shooter
- Android 14 (Go Edition)
- 5000mAh battery and 15W USB-C charging
- IP54 rating
- 3.5mm headphone jack, monospeaker with DTS audio
- Bluetooth 5, dual-band Wi-Fi, dual 4G SIM support and USB-C 2.0 port
Additionally, we do not know when the smartphone will launch in India. However, expect the news to break cover soon.
