The Lava Agni 4 launched in India back in November 2025 as the brand's most capable mid-range smartphone. Now, the phone is finally receiving its first major Android 16 update, bringing a mix of new features, security improvements and long-awaited bug fixes to users.
Lava Agni 4 Android 16 Update: What's New?
The rollout, first spotted by tipster Abhishek Yadav, is currently rolling out to users in phases and carries a hefty download size of 4.21 GB. The update carries the build number LAVA_LXX525_SW_B_V04_HW_V1.0_20260327 and also integrates the February 2026 security patch.

Beyond the major version jump, the Lava Agni 4 Android 16 update focuses heavily on fixing real-world usability issues. For instance, a problem with the "Don't Suggest App" option, which previously failed to respect user preferences, has now been resolved. Similarly, users who experienced screen flickering while replying to messages from the lock screen via WhatsApp should find the interaction much more stable post-update.
Additionally, there's a notable tweak to screenshotting within YouTube. When capturing screenshots using the Action Key, UI elements such as video titles and playback controls are now automatically excluded, resulting in cleaner pictures. Quite the thoughtful suggestion, if you ask us.
Rounding out the Lava Agni 4 Android 16 changelog is a fix for display-related issues. For instance, when users unlocked the phone with a dark wallpaper applied, there was a slight colour variation that appeared at the top of the display. As per Lava, this update fixes that issue and the display now maintains consistent colour accuracy across.
The Android 16 update for the Lava Agni 4 is expected to expand gradually, so users who haven't received it yet may need to wait a little longer. Users can check for the update by heading over to Settings -> Security and Privacy -> Check for updates.
