Summary
- Lava teases a new phone with a rear display embedded inside the camere deco.

- Early speculations indicate this could be the Lava Agni 5.
For the past few years, if there is one brand that has managed to make a solid mark in the Indian smartphone space, it's Lava. The brand has consistently experimented with its smartphones and the Lava Agni 4 in India is a perfect example of that. However, it has also translated to somewhat of an identity crisis for the brand. The latest teaser for an upcoming phone has somewhat hinted that.
Lava plans an Agni 3 makeover for its upcoming phone
The official Lava X handle has posted a new teaser image of an upcoming smartphone with the "there’s more than one side to this story" caption. It contains the image of the phone's back with a dual camera system and a mini rear display. All of this is housed inside a big edge-to-edge camera deco like the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

At first glance, this might look like a straight rip-off of the recently launched Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. However, that's not the case. First of all, the rear display design is nowhere near similar to Xiaomi's. Secondly, this is not the first time Lava has used this specific look.
The 2024 Lava Agni 3 was the first dual-display phone from the brand and it was incredibly affordable. It was even followed up with a budget variant dubbed the Lava Blaze Duo. So, it is clear that the brand has dabbled in this genre of smartphones before.

However, as to how this third iteration of rear display design will work out, it remains to be seen. Early speculations hint that this could be the Lava Agni 5. If true, Lava will position this as a mid-range phone with premium CMF and hardware just like the Lava Agni 4. Since a major USP of the brand is competitive pricing, expect the new phone to cost below Rs 25,000.
That said, since these are just speculations at the time of writing, take them with a pinch of salt. We will be sure to bring the latest updates your way here at Beebom Gadgets.
