Lenovo appears to be prepping a new tablet called the Tab Plus Gen 2, a successor to its previous sound-focused tablet, the Tab Plus Gen 1, which launched in 2024. The Tab Plus Gen 2 could build on that legacy, and the latest promotional renders confirm that the tablet could be a treat for audio lovers.
A tablet with a speaker or a speaker with a tablet?
The leaked promotional materials arrive courtesy of Evan Blass, revealing the design of the tablet. It boasts a massive JBL-branded speaker occupying a significant portion of the back panel. As polarising as it looks, it should deliver excellent sound quality for a tablet.

To support the weight of the speaker, the tablet could also boast a built-in kickstand ring surrounding the speaker module. This would make it easy to prop the device up for hands-free media consumption. This makes the device look like a smart speaker in disguise.
While information about the specifications is scarce, the renders did reveal some of the tablet's planned accessories. For starters, Lenovo could be prepping a dedicated folio case featuring a precise cut to accommodate the JBL speaker.

Besides, there's an integrated shoulder strap to carry the tablet around. There's even a smart pen, complete with a dedicated storage slot built right into the case.
Though Lenovo did not reveal the tablet at the recent Mobile World Congress, these promotional materials suggest the tablet could launch soon. For those unaware, Lenovo also launched the Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 at MWC, and chances are that the brand may unveil both devices at once in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
