After extensive teasing and rumours, Lenovo has finally unveiled its latest compact gaming tablet, the Y700 Gen 5, in China. The Lenovo Y700 5G was showcased at MWC 2026 first and is the direct successor to last year's Y700 Gen 4 tablet. The Gen 5 brings quite a lot of improvements from its predecessors, including a much faster processor and a larger battery.
Lenovo Y700 Gen 5 Specifications and Features
Starting with the display, the Lenovo Y700 Gen 5 retains the 8.8-inch IPS LCD panel, boasting a 3,040 x 1,904 resolution at 408 pixel density and 165Hz refresh rate. It's a 12-bit display featuring a 480Hz touch sampling rate and 2,640Hz instant touch response rate.

Powering the high-framerate experience is Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, complemented by Lenovo's advanced 17,353 mm2 ColdFront Vapour Chamber Cooling system. It's an octa-core processor based on TSMC's 3nm process and Qualcomm's latest 3rd Generation Oryon Cores.
Despite the ongoing RAM shortage, Lenovo is not backing down on storage. The tablet features up to 24 GB of LPDDR5T RAM and 1 TB UFS 4.1 Pro storage. Besides, powering the tablet is a massive 9,000mAh battery with 68W fast charging via USB-C (USB 3.2 Gen 2), capable of display output. There's another USB-C port for audio output.

Optics-wise, there's a 50 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera. The rear camera module has an RGB Halo ring that adds to the gamery aesthetics. The tablet also features dual linear X-axis vibration motors for an immersive gaming experience.
