Lately, the rumour mill has been buzzing with talk of a Motorola Edge 70 Ultra, which could launch as the Moto X70 Ultra in China. Now, the smartphone has made an appearance on Geekbench with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and it gives us a good idea of its performance.
Motorola Edge 70 Ultra could make a comeback after a year
The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra was the last Ultra we got from the brand. So, it's definitely good to see that Motorola hasn't given up on the Ultra yet. Tipster Abhishek Yadav took to X to reveal that the upcoming Motorola phone has been listed on Geekbench 6.5.0 with the model number XT2603-1. As per the listing, the phone manages to score 2636 points and 7,475 points in the single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.

Now, the tipster also digs further to unveil the Adreno 829 GPU from the source code. In addition, the Geekbench listing also reveals that the processor powering the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra features six cores clocked at 3.32 GHz and two cores at 3.65 GHz. Going by it all, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 seems like a dead giveaway.
According to the Geekbench listing, the upcoming Motorola flagship will also sport 16 GB of RAM and run on Android 16 right out of the box.
This falls in line with what another reliable tipster Anvin shared on X. Additionally, the tipster also suggested that the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra will feature a lightweight design, a 1.5K OLED display and a periscope telephoto camera in its setup.

For now, this is all that's known about the phone. But one thing is certain, that Motorola is really focusing on making even more slim and trim phones. The standard Edge 70 is a good example of that and now, it seems like the "Ultra" will be following the same route.
While nothing can be said about the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra launch date, expect to hear official details in the coming days.
