A few weeks back, Google announced the Android 17 Beta 1 update and it looks like, surprisingly, Motorola is already one of the very first adopters. The brand has announced the Android 17 beta program in regions like the US, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India.
Motorola starts Android 17 beta enrollment
The official Motorola Lenovo forum broke the news, informing members that Motorola Edge (2025), Moto g57 and Moto g57 Power users can now enrol for the early Android 17 beta update. Each enrolled member will undergo a series of tests to confirm their eligibility. As for the enrollment regions, here is a breakdown of that:
- Motorola Edge (2025) - US only
- Moto g57 - Europe, Middle East and Africa
- Moto g57 Power - India, Europe, Middle East and Africa

It is good to see that Motorola is also letting users in India experience its next big OS update. So, in case you own the Moto g57 Power and want to register for Android 17 beta, check out the link here. However, do note that since this is the first beta build, there is a high chance it's extremely unstable. So proceed with caution and make sure to back up your device data before proceeding.
As for what's new with Android 17 Beta 1,it's official dessert name is Cinnamon Bun and brings several new UI tweaks and system-level improvements. The update introduces forced themed icons for third party apps, widgets in the lockscreen and improved blur effects across the UI.

Also, with Android 17 Beta 1, Google has released new guidelines for adaptive apps. With Android 17 (API level 37), apps targeting the new SDK will no longer be allowed to restrict orientation or resizability on devices with screens wider than 600 dp. This ensures proper compatibility across devices and screen sizes.
That said, we are yet to experience Android 17 on the Moto g57 Power. However, we will be sure to share our thoughts and comment on how HelloUI has changed with the next major Android update.
