After teasing the Motorola Razr Fold last week, the brand has now confirmed when its first-ever book-style folding phone will launch in India. It will go official in India next week and could emerge as strong competition to Samsung and Vivo.
Motorola Razr Fold Launching in India on May 13
The official Motorola India X account has revealed that the Motorola Razr Fold will launch in India on May 13, 2026, at 12:00 PM IST, via Flipkart. The now live product page of the phone on the Motorola India website has also confirmed Pantone Blackened Blue, Pantone Lily White and FIFA World Cup Edition colour options for the phone.

Alongside the launch date announcement, Motorola has also confirmed a bunch of the Razr Fold's specs. They align perfectly with the Motorola Razr global variant with the 8.1-inch 2K LTPO 120 Hz flexible 10-bit AMOLED folding display and the 6.6-inch 165 Hz 10-bit p-OLED outer screen.
It will also feature a 6,000mAh battery with 80W fast USB-C charging and will ship with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset inside and run on HelloUI based on Android 16. The Razr Fold will also feature a full-fledged camera system comprising a 50 MP Sony LYT-828 main camera, a 50 MP Sony LYT-600 3x periscope telephoto lens and a 50 MP 122° ultra-wide angle camera.
Motorola Razr Fold Price in India (Expected)
The Motorola Razr Fold launched in Europe at the CES 2026 event for 1,999 Euros (approximately Rs 2,14,500) for the single 16 GB + 1 TB model. However, in India the phone is launching in a 12 GB + 256 GB option and a 12 GB + 512 GB variant.
Hence, unlike the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 or the Vivo X Fold 5, which cost upwards of Rs 1,50,000, the Motorola Razr Fold could start from as low as Rs 1 lakh. However, we will learn for sure once the phone launches, which isn't too far off. So, stay tuned.
