There's no denying that Nothing's Gallery app is not exactly feature-rich. However, the brand has started taking it quite seriously and gave it some important image-editing tools not too long ago. Now, the company is expanding its focus to video editing on the native Gallery app and giving Nothing Phone users a lot more control.
Nothing Gallery App gets colour grading, filters and more
Akis Evangelidis, Co-founder of Nothing, took to his official X handle to break the Gallery app update news.
A few months ago, we updated our Nothing Gallery app with built-in image editing tools, focusing on enhancing photo editing capabilities.

With the latest update, the Nothing Gallery app no longer limits video editing to simple trimming or slow-motion adjustments. Users can now edit videos much like photos and here's a rundown of the tools the app has received now:
- Basic adjustments like six cropping and rotating options
- Colour grading options with twelve parameters that allow users to fine-tune contrast, white balance, saturation and more
- Users can now choose from ten Nothing-designed filters with adjustable intensity
Most importantly, Akis states that, "Everything is processed locally on-device, with no metadata removed or hidden post-processing." In addition, Ultra XDR videos retain their HDR data even after applying colour adjustments or filters. Now, this is something that most third-party apps fail to deliver.

Nothing has also injected the Gallery app with subtle haptic feedback with every tweak to make the process satisfying and allow users to make more intuitive adjustments.
From the looks of it, the brand is trying to bring its video and photo editors up to speed with third-party editors with each update. The Nothing Gallery app built-in editing tools update that was rolled out a couple of months ago is a good example of it. What once seemed like a hollow app that's only good for viewing images now seems to be on its way to becoming a usable video and photo editor.
The new Nothing Gallery app video editing update is rolling out now on the Google Play Store and is available to all Nothing Phone users. Akis also talks about "more exciting features on the way," and we're all for it.
