Nothing is rolling out a new software update for the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, bringing the device to Nothing OS B4.1-260723-1820. The update refines the Essential Voice and camera lens switching features, while also patching things up for July.
The latest Nothing OS update expands the customisation options for Essential Voice, Nothing's AI-powered translation and transcription tool. Users can now choose whether a long press or double press of the Essential Key triggers translation or transcription while typing.
The setting can be configured by heading over to Settings -> Intelligence Toolkit -> Essential Voice -> Customise Essential Key.
Additionally, Nothing Phone 4a Pro users can now quickly switch between translation and transcription modes by long-pressing the corresponding icon on the keyboard. This makes it easier for users to toggle between the two functions.
Nothing has also introduced a new Lock Lens option within the native Camera app. When enabled, the feature prevents the phone from automatically switching between camera lenses during video recording. This allows users to maintain a more consistent framing throughout a particular clip.
Alongside this, the latest update has also optimised camera memory management, which should deliver a smoother shooting experience.
Beyond the new features, the update brings a more precise volume slider for finer adjustments while dragging and also adds a new security reminder for Face Unlock. It also improves the overall system stability.
The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro is also updated with the July 2026 security patch.
As with previous Nothing software releases, the rollout is being pushed out in phases, so it may take a few days before it becomes available for all users. Users can head over to Settings -> System -> System Updates -> Check for update to get the update.
