Nubia has launched a new budget smartphone in Malaysia – the V80 Design. It brings an iPhone 17 Pro-like design on a budget and offers specs like an LCD display, Unisoc processor and more. Here is a quick rundown of everything the new phone has to offer.
Nubia's V80 Design mimics the iPhone 17 Pro on a budget
Right off the bat, it is clear that the design inspiration for the Nubia V80 Design has been the Apple iPhone 17 Pro. It features the same edge-to-edge horizontal and rectangular camera plateau at the top with rounded edges.
There is also the same triple camera design of the iPhones and instead of the LiDAR sensor on the iPhone 17 Pro models, the V80 Design features the "Neo" branding in a bright red dot. The LED Flash module sits atop that. Very recently, the ZTE Blade V80 VIta renders also leaked online, showcasing a similar design.

While the design of the phone is inspired by iPhones, the specifications are not. It is still a budget smartphone with a 6.75-inch HD+ 120 Hz LCD display with 1,000 nits of peak brightness. It features a punch-hole selfie cutout at the top with a thick bottom chin.
On the inside, the smartphone is powered by the budget Unisoc T7280 processor, paired with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB eMMC 5.1 storage. There is also the option to extend the RAM by 12 GB virtually. Software-wise, it runs on Android 16 with the MyOS 16 skin on top.

Interestingly, Nubia has added a new AI button to the V80 Design. It acts as a one-trigger shortcut to launch multiple preset actions or summon AIs installed inside the smartphone.
Talking about the cameras, the V80 Design brings a triple camera setup at the back with a 50 MP main camera and two undisclosed sensors. The front gets a 16 MP selfie shooter.

Battery-wise, there is a 5,000mAh cell inside with 22.5W USB-C charging support. Aside from that, the smartphone offers a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a single bottom speaker, an IP54 rating, NFC, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a USB-C port.
Nubia has priced the V80 Design at 570 Malaysian Ringgit (approximately Rs 12,300) for the single 8 GB + 256 GB model. Interested folks can choose from the Midnight Black, Pale Amber, Peach Fuzz and Celadon Blue colourways.
