The OnePlus 16 is in the news again as new leaked details have surfaced online, giving us a clearer picture of the upcoming flagship. The phone has cleared an important certification ahead of the alleged October 2026 launch window.
As per tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) on Weibo, a phone with the PYB110 model number has allegedly cleared Network Access Certification (NAC) in China. The listing mentions only the SKU of the smartphone and doesn't explicitly name-drop it.
DCS claims that the phone in question is the OnePlus 16. The certification data also mentions the presence of the N79 5G band. This indicates comprehensive connectivity for the OnePlus 16 since the N79 band supports a 4,400 to 5,000 MHz frequency range and is useful for long-range coverage and 4.5 signal reception

However, the most significant takeaway from the leak is that DCS claims the OnePlus 16 will launch with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor. The tipster revealed the same back in March 2026, when the OnePlus 16 camera and chipset specs leaked online. Hence, it seems like the brand is moving forward with the upcoming 2nm SoC from Qualcomm.
Moreover, in response to a user's comment, DCS reiterated that OnePlus 16 is tipped to feature a BOE-made 1.5K resolution display with a whopping 185 Hz refresh rate. For context, the current generation OnePlus 15 offers a 165 Hz 1.5K AMOLED display.
The leaker also mentioned an "HPE main camera and a JN5 telephoto lens". This could point to a 50 MP Samsung HPE main camera and a Samsung JN5 3.5x periscope telephoto lens for the OnePlus 16. If true, this will be a clear step up over the 50 MP Sony IMX906 main camera on the OnePlus 15.
Aside from that, earlier leaks have pointed to a 9,000mAh battery with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging, LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 4.1 storage for the OnePlus 16. The phone could see a starting price of 5,000 Chinese yuan (approximately Rs 71,000) and launch in October 2026 in China.
As for the rest, OnePlus China President Li Jie recently confirmed that the OnePlus 16 will feature three exclusive gaming technologies. It is yet to be seen what these new upgrades are. We should hear more official details once the launch timeline nears. So, stay tuned.
