Summary

  • OnePlus and Bhagwati Products Limited have entered a strategic-partnership for its upcoming tablets in India.
  • Starting with the OnePlus Pad Lite and Pad 3, the products will be locally manufactured and assembled in Greater Noida.
  • This initiative is part of OnePlus' Project Starlight and Made in India initiative.

India is one of the key smartphone, tablet, audio and peripherals market for OnePlus. Since it is a price sensitive demography, pricing the product right is an important step for brands to succeed in the subcontinent. To facilitate that, OnePlus is partnering with an Indian manufacturing unit to locally manufacture its future Android tablets.

Indian telecom products manufacturing brand, Bhagwati Products Limited, has entered into a strategic partnership with OnePlus. As part of this collaboration, the Indigenous brand will utilise its Greater Noida plant to manufacture and assemble future OnePlus tablets.

As part of this agreement, the first batch of tablets to carry the "manufactured and assembled in India" label will be the recently launched budget OnePlus Pad Lite and the more premium OnePlus Pad 3, which launched back in June this year but will go on sale this September.

This means that the next batch of OnePlus Pad Lite to hit the shelves will be distributed by Bhagwati Products Limited. As for the OnePlus Pad 3, it launched in India in June 2025. However, OnePlus held back on its pricing.

So, we expect the first ever batch of OnePlus Pad 3 to ship directly from the brand's Greater Noida plant. This could also mean a really competitive and aggressive pricing for the Pad 3 in India.

This is part of OnePlus' Project Starlight initiative that was introduced in December 2024. With an estimated investment of Rs 6,000 crores, the brand is looking to strengthen its presence in India with strategic collaborations and better after-sale services for the next three years.

With this latest partnership, OnePlus' smartphones, earbuds and tablets, all will be "Made in India." This will also help the band price its products more aggressively to compete with the likes of Realme, Oppo, Xiaomi and more.

We can also expect future OnePlus portfolio products to get added to its growing list of locally-manufactured products. This is good news for the Indian consumers who can get more value for money products in the future from a reputed brand like OnePlus.
