The Oppo Reno 16 series launch in China is just a few days away and now, the brand has confirmed a quirky new accessory that will accompany the upcoming phones. Oppo has showcased a new Oppo Bubbles wireless magnetic screen accessory, which the brand is positioning as an attachable trendy selfie screen.

Oppo Bubbles to Launch on May 25

A dedicated microsite on the Oppo China website has confirmed Oppo Bubbles will launch with the Oppo Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro on May 25, 2026, at 6:00 PM CST (or 3:30 PM IST). It is designed to remotely control the camera of the smartphone and use it as a display accessory at the same time.

As a lifestyle accessory, Oppo Bubbles will help users choose between static and animated wallpapers, including photos from the gallery to display. It uses a circular AMOLED display to act as a secondary display that can be carried anywhere.

For selfies, users can either magnetically attach it to the back of the phone or use it as a remote wireless shooting preview for up to 10 meters. It connects to the smartphone via Bluetooth and uses the display as a viewfinder for the image.

Moreover, Oppo Bubbles will be slim at 7mm and lightweight at 27.5 grams, while featuring a 550mAh battery inside. It will also come with a dedicated one-tap customisable button to help users click manual images, use it as a shutter button, display images, toggle between wallpapers and more.

That said, it is currently unclear if Oppo Bubbles will work exclusively with the Reno 16 series or if Oppo will position it as a smart accessory for all smartphones. Given that the product will launch in just a few more days, we shall know all the details soon.
