Oppo Find X9 Ultra Could Arrive with Massive Telephoto Camera Upgrades

Oppo is prepping to launch the Find X9 Ultra flagship, and the latest leak suggests it could set a new benchmark for zoom performance in smartphones. One of the sensors on the smartphone will focus on long-range zoom capabilities, bringing native zoom levels never witnessed before in a smartphone.

Oppo Find X9 Ultra could get 10x Optical Zoom

According to fresh details shared by the renowned Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra will feature a dedicated 50 MP periscope lens capable of native 10x optical zoom. However, what stands out is its f/3.5 aperture at that focal length, which is exceptional.

It means users could zoom in farther while retaining the ample amount of light entering the lens. DCS suggests this configuration allows the lens to draw roughly three times more light than the 10x periscope lens found in the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. The specifications weigh in on these claims as the S23 Ultra got a 10 MP periscope lens with 10x zoom at f/4.9, which is quite small.

Additionally, the tipster highlighted that this 10x zoom module has been engineered to maintain a "friendly volume". What this could mean is that Oppo has managed to pack a massive focal length without making the phone excessively thick or requiring bulky external modules.

From the previous leaks, we already know that the Find X9 Ultra will also feature a 200 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Oppo will probably still sell a camera kit to go with it for a massive focal length boost, and it would still make sense to purchase it, considering it's a higher resolution sensor and can capture more details.

The Find X9 Ultra is turning out to be one of the Ultras to watch out for this year, especially for camera enthusiasts. The phone could get a major teleconverter kit upgrade, and a few Oppo Find X9 Ultra renders also revealed its potential design. Other specifications could include a 7,500mAh battery, a 6.82-inch 2K AMOLED display, all powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 under the hood.
