Fresh off the launch of the Oppo Reno 15 series, Oppo is already cooking up the Reno 16 series. Expected to arrive later this year, details about the Oppo Reno 16 Pro Max have freshly surfaced, giving us a hint of what to expect in terms of display, camera and processor.
Oppo Reno 16 Pro Max could get a performance bump
According to new information from Digital Chat Station on Weibo, Oppo is prepping the Reno 16 series and is expected to retain the Reno 16 Pro Max. The headline change could be that Oppo could pack in a Dimensity "N-1" processor, which means an older flagship Dimensity processor, likely the Dimensity 9400.

The smartphone could feature the same 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO OLED screen and could boast the same size as the Reno 15 Pro Max launched at the end of 2025. Optics-wise, the cameras may remain unchanged with a 200 MP main camera, 50 MP periscope and 50 MP ultrawide snappers.
Specifications of the standard Oppo Reno 16 Pro have also leaked, suggesting the phone could feature a Dimensity 8500 processor. This could mean that the Reno 16 Pro Max will be the top-of-the-line offering, and size won't be the only difference between the Pro and Pro Max, like it was in the Reno 15 Pro series.
Lastly, DCS also mentions that the Reno 16 Pro Max could be more expensive due to the spec bump and the ongoing memory shortage. As for the launch, given the early leaks, we expect the series to launch sometime in Q3 2026. More details about the phone's specifications should surface as we inch closer to launch, so stay tuned.
