Long drives are one of my favourite, most exciting weekend activities, but that excitement only lasts until I'm actually driving and my phone keeps falling off the dashboard. Traditional clasping phone holders cannot handle sudden jolts, so I bought this Rs 500 MagSafe phone holder from Amazon. Turns out it was the best decision I ever made.
During a casual window-shopping session on Amazon, I stumbled upon the OQTIQ Vacuum Magnetic phone holder. Priced slightly below Rs 500, it made bold promises, and I was surprised at how it managed to keep them.

The phone holder comes with a suction cup at the bottom, which, when placed on the dashboard and rotated, creates exceptional suction strength. Besides, the magnetic surface where the phone sticks is also quite powerful, with a dual N52 magnetic array.
While I didn't find a way to test the brand's fantastical 44 kg weight-holding claims, I did use it as a hook to hold 2-3 kg packages. I was surprised to see that it held them surprisingly well. It held on to my Pixel 10 on long drives pretty well, handling jolts from rather poor Indian highways.
Beyond that, the holder is pretty versatile, with 180-degree rotation capabilities at its hinges and 360-degree rotation on the rod. This will help users bend and stick their smartphones according to what works best for them.

While it's best used as a car holder, it's not limited to just cars. It folds into an extremely compact object that users can carry pretty much anywhere. Some of the other use cases include shooting videos and using it as a stand to watch content in the kitchen, when working or while eating something.
As for compatibility, the holder will work with all MagSafe-compatible iPhones starting from the iPhone 12 and Pixel 10 series. However, those who lack a phone with magnets needn't tag themselves out just yet. That's because the packaging ships a metal ring that users can stick to the back of the phone or case.
It's worth noting that using a metal ring significantly reduces the sticking force, especially when used over cases. All in all, it's an extremely nifty product that solved my long-drive woes. No more smartphone falling. For Rs 474 (Available on Amazon), I cannot ask for more.
