The Poco F7 that launched recently is a rebranded Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, with a bigger 7,550mAh battery. However, rumours suggest Redmi wants to breach the 8,000mAh battery barrier on its next smartphone.
According to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, Redmi could launch a high-performance phone next year with a flat display and over 8,000mAh battery. Now, the phone in question is unknown but considering it's expected to arrive next year, it could be the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro, which could launch as the Poco F8 in India.
Considering that the Poco F7 launched in India and globally as a rebranded Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, we could expect the brand to stick to this pattern.

It's also possible that the phone could be the Redmi K90 Ultra. Since both the Turbo 4 Pro and Redmi K80 Ultra breached the 7,000mAh mark this year, it's possible that both successors surpass 8,000mAh next year.
The leaker also claims that Xiaomi could be prepping the Xiaomi 16 series and Redmi K90 Series in September 2026 alongside the Redmi Note 15 series.
In another post, the leaker mentions that phones coming in 2026 or later could reach capacities of up to 9,000mAh with the introduction of Steel Shell batteries. It's a bit soon to expect major changes in this department, so we suggest taking this with a grain of salt.

For those wondering how firms are cramming in so many milliamperes into batteries of relatively same sizes, it's all thanks to Silicon Carbon technology.
These batteries use a denser Silicon composite anode, instead of Graphite, and since Silicon is denser, it's capable of holding much more charge than a regular Lithium-ion battery.
For now, this is all that is known about the Poco F8. However, with the leak faucet turned on now, we do expect to see more details surface in the coming months. So, stay tuned as we cover it all.
