Chinese smartphone brand Poco has started teasing a new smartphone for India. Although the brand has not revealed the exact name of the smartphone, early speculations hint it to be a rebadged Redmi smartphone.

The Flipkart microsite for the upcoming smartphone is now live in India. It features the Poco India brand ambassador, actor Akshay Kumar, with the tagline "Endless Power. Limitless Possibilities".

The teaser webpage focuses heavily on battery and charging innovation, which will likely be the key USP of the yet-to-be-named smartphone. We expect the device to make use of Silicon Carbon battery tech to pack a bigger battery capacity and also support fast USB-C charging speed.

Apart from this, there is also a small hint regarding the design of this upcoming smartphone. The obscured smartphone that Akshay Kumar is holding appears to bear a vertical pill shaped camera module along with a four part back panel design.

At first glance, the device closely resembles the Redmi 15 5G that launched in Poland last week. If rumours are true, this could very well mean that the upcoming smartphone is none other than the Poco M7 Plus.

This could make sense since firstly, Redmi and Poco share devices among each other to launch the same smartphone in different markets and regions with a different name and under their respective brand series portfolios.

Secondly, the Poco M7 and M7 Pro have already launched in India. So, the next likely member of the "M7" family is the Poco M7 Plus. To top it off, our hunch is also backed by credible leaker Sanju Chaudhary, who took to X to share the same speculation regarding the upcoming smartphone.

With that said, keeping Poco's Redmi smartphones rebranding strategy in mind, we can expect the smartphone to launch with the following specifications:

  • 6.9-inch Full HD+ 144 Hz IPS LCD display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s gen 3 processor
  • 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage
  • 7,000mAh battery with 33W USB-C charging
  • IP64 rating
  • 50 MP + 2 MP dual rear camera setup
  • 8 MP selfie camera

As it evident from the above list, the biggest highlight here will be the alleged 7,000mAh battery capacity for the upcoming Poco smartphone. However, do note that the above speculated smartphone and its likely specs are part of Beebom Gadget's speculations. So take them with a grain of salt. Since, the official teaser page is already live, expect Poco to name-drop the smartphone in the next few days.
