Qualcomm has quietly added a new variant to its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 family: the SM8850-1-AB, aka the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V-Series. Positioned as a gaming-focused chipset, the SoC shares identical specs to the regular Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, with one key upgrade.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V-Series Specifications and Features

Despite the "V-Series" branding and gaming-forward positioning, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V-Series (SM8850-1-AB) shares practically the entire architecture of the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset (SM8850-AC).

The only key difference between them is in the Adreno High Performance Memory (HPM) allocation. Compared to the 18 MB HPM on the standard model, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V-Series features 12 MB HPM.
