The Redmi 17 5G India launch date is confirmed for as early as next week, and it will pack a massive battery alongside some interesting set of specifications.
Redmi 17 5G India Launch Date Announced
A dedicated Amazon microsite for the Redmi 17 5G has gone live and revealed that the phone will launch in India on September 3, 2026, at 12:00 PM IST. This also confirms the phone's availability on the e-commerce platform.
Additionally, the microsite also reveals the phone's design in Eternal Orange, Absolute Black and Endless Blue colourways. Here, the Eternal Orange colourway appears to feature a vegan leather back panel, while the other two feature polished back panels likely made out of plastic.
The brand is also referring to the phone's camera module design as its new "astral camera deco."
As for the Redmi 17 5G specs, it is confirmed to feature a 7,900mAh battery with 45W fast charging (charger in the box) and 22.5W reverse wired charging support.
Under the hood, this will be the first phone in India to be powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset. At the front, it is confirmed to sport a 50 MP dual AI main rear camera and, at the front, an 8 MP shooter for selfies.
The brand has also teased a 120 Hz display for the phone and 300% volume boost technology to enhance the multimedia viewing experience.
Although nothing else is revealed, from the looks of it, the Indian variant of the Redmi 17 5G will be similar to the global variant that debuted in Malaysia a while back. However, the battery capacity is higher than the 7,500mAh cell on the global variant. Anyway, here's what else we can expect from the Indian variant:
- Up to 6 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256 GB UFS 2.2 storage
- 170.12 x 78.42 x 8.8mm, 232 grams (can be a little thicker and heavier due to the larger battery)
- 6.9-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) 120 Hz LCD display, 825 nits HBM
- IP64 rating
- HyperOS 3
