Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi has launched the Redmi 17C 5G in Singapore as a new budget 5G smartphone. Once known for bringing value-for-money phones to the market, the brand has also been hit hard by the ongoing RAM crisis and has, in turn, launched the Redmi 15C successor with downgraded specs.
Redmi 17C 5G Specifications and Features
The all-new Redmi 17C 5G features a 6.9-inch 120 Hz LCD display with HD+ (1600 x 720) resolution, a 240 Hz Touch Sampling rate and 810 nits of high brightness. The panel also gets Wet Touch 2.0 tech and is backed by TÜV Rheinland's Low Blue Light certification.
Under the hood, the phone draws its power from the Dimensity 6300 chipset and is paired with 4 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Redmi 17C 5G ships with HyperOS 3.0 based on Android 16 out of the box.
Battery-wise, the smartphone packs a respectable 6,000mAh cell capacity and is backed by 33W fast charging support. For photos and videos, the Redmi 17C 5G includes a 50 MP main rear camera and an 8 MP selfie shooter.
As for the rest, the phone offers a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a single bottom-firing speaker, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, a 3.5mm headphone jack, dual-SIM 5G, NFC, GPS and a USB-C 2.0 port. Redmi 17C 5G comes protected with an IP64 rating.

Pricing-wise, the phone starts from 279 Singapore dollars (approximately Rs 19,000) for the 4 GB + 64 GB model. Redmi 17C 5G comes in Black, Brown and Purple colourways.
The phone's availability is currently limited to Singapore and the brand hasn't revealed any details about its India launch.
