China's compact tablet market has been trending as of late, with manufacturers like Oppo, Lenovo and Nubia competing for the crown. Now, Redmi is officially joining the ranks with the K Pad 2. The Redmi K Pad 2 launch date, key specifications have been confirmed and it will pack some serious hardware.
Redmi K Pad 2 Launch Date in China Confirmed
The official Redmi Weibo handle has posted a series of new posts, confirming the Redmi K Pad 2 launch date in China on April 21, 2026. It appears the compact gaming tablet will launch alongside the Redmi K90 Max.

Additionally, the brand's Weibo posts have also confirmed some key Redmi K Pad 2 specifications. For starters, the Redmi K Pad 2 will feature an 8.8-inch 3K LCD with a 165Hz refresh rate and 1,000 nits of peak brightness. The display will also feature a 540Hz touch sampling rate for faster response times and a 400Hz Gyro sampling rate for accurate controls.
The brand also revealed that the K Pad 2 will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 SoC, fueled by a massive 9,100mAh battery. Keeping the temperatures in check will be a massive 15,300mm2 vapour chamber cooling system underneath.
Adding to this, Redmi is expanding its Bose partnership to its tablets. The sound on the Redmi K Pad 2 will be tuned by Bose, featuring a double 1620 frequency unit and a 2CC audio cavity. The brand claims the audio will sound richer with deeper bass.

When it comes to the build, the Redmi K Pad 2 is confirmed to flaunt a Metal unibody design with a minimalist and clean back. We also see a single rear camera. The tablet will come in three colour options, namely, Space Silver, Deep Black and Electric Purple.
Additionally, the promotional images give us a glimpse at the tablet's physical design, showcasing a sleek, flat-edged chassis in the Electric Purple colourway.
