Redmi has officially launched its highly anticipated compact gaming tablet in China, the Redmi K Pad 2. Launching alongside the flagship Redmi K90 Max smartphone, the tablet brings flagship-tier performance, with a smooth display and massive battery, all in a highly portable 8-inch form factor.
Redmi K Pad 2 Specifications and Features
Starting with the display, the Redmi K Pad 2 features a compact 8.8-inch 3K 165 Hz LCD display with a 540Hz touch sampling rate and up to 1,100 nits of peak brightness. Build-wise, the tablet has a minimal design with a metal unibody build and a clean-looking back.

Under the hood is the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset that's complemented by a massive 15,300mm2 Vapor Chamber cooling system. Memory-wise, the K Pad 2 packs up to 16 GB RAM and 512 GB UFS 4.1 storage. Fuelling the internals is a massive 9,100mAh battery, supported by 67W fast charging.
Besides the processor upgrades, Redmi has also leaned into audio upgrades. The Redmi K Pad 2 features dual symmetrical speakers tuned by Bose with a 2CC capacity. It also includes dual X-axis vibration motors for better haptic feedback. Optics-wise, there's a single 13 MP main camera accompanied by an 8 MP front snapper.

Connectivity-wise, the tablet boasts Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4. The K Pad 2 also carries the legacy of the original by offering dual USB-C ports, including one USB 3.2 Type-C and another USB 2.0. There's also a fingerprint scanner embedded inside the power button. Software-wise, the tablet runs on the latest HyperOS 3.0 based on Android 16.
Redmi K Pad 2 Price in China and Sale Date
The Redmi K Pad 2 arrives in three storage variants – 8 GB + 256 GB, 12 GB + 512 GB and 16 GB + 512 GB. The base variant starts from 3,399 Chinese Yuan (approximately Rs 47,000), while the highest storage variant goes up to 4,799 Chinese Yuan (approximately Rs 66,000).

The tablet is available in three colours – White, Black, Green and Purple, and it will go on sale starting May 5, 2026, via the Xiaomi China store. The tablet is not yet confirmed to launch outside China.
