Ahead of the Redmi Note 17 series global launch, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max has officially debuted in Japan. This is the first-ever Xiaomi phone to launch with a 10,000mAh battery and also features a 1.5K display, a Snapdragon processor and dual rear cameras.
Redmi Note 17 Pro Max Specifications and Features
As it is already evident, one of the key USPs of the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is its 10,000mAh battery. This is the highest among all the Xiaomi phones and Redmi phones that have been launched so far. The smartphone also comes with 100W fast charging and 27W reverse wired charging support.

At the front, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max gets a big 6.83-inch 1.5K 120 Hz AMOLED display with a 3,200 Hz touch sampling rate, 3,500 nits of peak brightness and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. The panel also supports TÜV Rheinland certification for blue light.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the fairly recent Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset and is paired with 8 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The phone ships with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and is promised 4 years of OS and 6 years of security updates.

Camera-wise, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max features a 50 MP main camera and an 8 MP ultra-wide angle lens at the back. The selfie shooter is a 32 MP unit. As for durability, the smartphone comes with IP66 + IP68 + IP69 + IP69K ratings and TÜV SÜD certification.
Rest, the phone features an in-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, infrared sensor, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 6.0, dual-SIM 5G, GPS, NFC and a USB-C port.

Redmi Note 17 Pro Max Price and Availability
In terms of pricing, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max starts at 79,980 Japanese yen (approximately Rs 48,000) for the 8 GB + 256 GB model. The phone comes in Black, Purple and Cloudburst colour options and goes on sale from August 28, 2026.
While the brand hasn't revealed anything about the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max India launch, we expect it to make it to the country in the coming months. However, it's difficult to say if that will even happen in the first place, considering the worsening RAM crisis. Only time will tell.
