The cat is finally out of the bag as Xiaomi has confirmed the Redmi Note 17 series global launch date. The Redmi Note 17 and Note 17 Pro launched in China back in July and the standard Note 17 has also launched in India. Now, the global markets will get these two phones, alongside a new entrant: the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max.
Redmi Note 17, Note 17 Pro and Note 17 Pro Max Launching Globally next Week
The official Xiaomi global X account has confirmed that the Redmi Note 17 series will go official on August 27, 2026. This year, the lineup will include three phones: the standard Redmi Note 17, Redmi Note 17 Pro and Redmi Note 17 Pro Max.
Moreover, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is confirmed to feature a whopping 10,000mAh battery. This will make it one of the few Redmi phones launched globally that have breached the 9,000mAh mark.
In comparison, the Redmi Note 17 and Note 17 Pro pack 8,000mAh and 9,000mAh battery capacities, respectively.

Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G Specifications Leaked
Aside from the launch date and the battery capacity, Xiaomi has not revealed any other details for the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max. However, thanks to a recent Redmi Note 17 series global spec leak, we know details about the phone like its display, processor and camera.
For starters, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is tipped to feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K 120 Hz AMOLED display with 3,500 nits peak brightness and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. The phone could be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset and bring LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage support. This falls in line with a recent Redmi Note 17 Pro Max Geekbench report.
Interestingly, the leaked marketing material mentions a 9,210mAh battery even though Xiaomi has confirmed a 10,000mAh cell for the phone. This could mean that the Note 17 Max will have a typical capacity of 9,210mAh, marketed as 10,000mAh.
The phone could be paired with 100W fast charging support. Camera-wise, there could be a 50 MP f/1.5 aperture main camera with OIS support and an 8 MP ultra-wide lens. The selfie camera is said to be 32 MP.
Aside from that, the phone could bring IP66 + IP68 + IP69 + IP69K dust and water resistance, an in-display fingerprint scanner and HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 out of the box. Redmi Note 17 Pro Max could launch in Black, Cloud Blush, Green and Purple colour options.
That said, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max goes official next week alongside the standard Note 17 and Note 17 Pro. All three phones are also expected to launch in markets like Malaysia, Japan and Indonesia. However, it is unclear if the phone will launch in India. Hopefully, we will learn more next week.
