Redmi has silently expanded its Pad 2 portfolio with the all-new Redmi Pad 2 9.7 in Malaysia and Singapore. This is completely different from the Redmi Pad 2 that launched in India last year in the sense that it brings more to the table as an entry-level tablet. The Redmi Pad 2 9.7 is for those who prefer a high-resolution display, casual gaming and 4G connectivity on the go.
Redmi Pad 2 9.7 Specifications and Features
The Redmi Pad 2 9.7 features a 9.7-inch 2K LCD with 2048 x 1280 resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate and can hit up to 600 nits of peak brightness. It also features a 240 Hz touch sampling rate and TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light, Flicker Free and Circadian Friendly certifications.
Under the hood, the tablet is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 2 chipset, paired with up to 4 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB UFS 2.2 storage. It also comes with 2 TB of expandable microSD card storage expansion and 4 GB of virtual RAM support.

On the software front, Redmi equips the tablet with Android 16-based HyperOS 3 out of the box. As for battery and charging, the Redmi Pad 2 9.7 features a big 7,600mAh capacity cell and 18W fast USB-C charging support. However, the retail box only ships with a 15W charger.
For video calls and document scanning, the tablet offers an 8 MP rear camera and a 5 PM selfie shooter. In terms of connectivity options, the Redmi Pad 2 9.7 brings dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack, optional 4G connectivity and USB-C 2.0 port. The tablet is also backed by Hi-Res Dolby Atmos stereo speakers.
Lastly, in terms of pricing, the Wi-Fi only variant of the Redmi Pad 2 9.7 costs 229 Singaporean dollar (approximately Rs 17,000). Meanwhile, the Wi-Fi + 4G model has a 269 Singaporean dollar (approximately Rs 20,000).
