Redmi has silently listed two new smartphones on their China website – the Redmi R70 and R70m. Both phones are part of the Mainland-exclusive budget "Redmi R" series and bring a big and fast LCD display, a 13 MP main camera and an entry-level Unisoc processor.
Redmi R70 and R70m Specifications and Features
The newly launched Redmi R70 and Redmi R70m share almost identical specs across the board, except for the battery capacity. For instance, both feature the same 6.9-inch flat 120 Hz LCD panel with an HD+ resolution and up to 800 nits of peak brightness.

Under the hood, Redmi has packed in the entry-level Unisoc T8300 processor in both phones, paired with up to 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. They also support up to 1 TB micro-SD card expansion and up to 8 GB of virtual RAM expansion. Software-wise, they ship with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 out of the box.
In terms of cameras, Redmi R70 and R70m bear the exact setup. Both bring a 13 MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and an undisclosed secondary lens and an 8 MP selfie camera. Both phones can still shoot 1080p videos @ 60 FPS.

Battery is the only area where the phones differ significantly. While there is a 6,000mAh capacity cell inside the Redmi R70, the Redmi R70m gets a bigger 6,300mAh capacity. Both bring 15W USB-C and 7.5W reverse wired charging support.
Aside from that, both phones are IP54 rated and come with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a single bottom-firing speaker. Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, dual SIM support, GPS and USB-C 2.0 port.

In terms of pricing, Redmi R70 starts in China from 1,799 Chinese yuan (approximately Rs 25,000) and Redmi R70m has been launched starting at 1,599 Chinese yuan (approximately Rs 22,000). Redmi R70 offers 4 GB + 128 GB of base RAM and storage, while Redmi R70m brings 6 GB + 128 GB of starting RAM and storage.
