Samsung hopes to finally outpace Qualcomm's flagship chipsets with its upcoming Exynos 2700 processor. According to a report from Yonhap News Agency, the brand is confident that the Exynos 2700 will beat the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 in both computational throughput and power efficiency.
Samsung's internal projections point to a host of improvements across compute, graphics and machine learning. For starters, the Exynos 2700 could be 19% faster than the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and 9.5% ahead of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 in Geekbench 6.5.

Graphics-wise, the supposed Xclipse 970 GPU could deliver 5% better peak graphics performance than Snapdragon Extreme. Besides, it could also deliver 22% to 24% better efficiency under a constrained 2.5W power envelope.
When it comes to AI, the processor is claimed to process the Llama 3.1 8B workload 18% quicker and handle prompt recognition 5% faster than its Snapdragon counterpart. These are, of course, Samsung's internal claims and numbers, and should be taken with a grain of salt.

That said, Exynos 2700 has been spotted on Geekbench multiple times. The tests revealed that it could be manufactured on Samsung's second-generation 2nm process (SF2P) and may use a 10-core quad-cluster layout (1+4+1+4). Besides, the processor could also retain HPB (Heat Path Block) to keep temperatures in check.
Exynos 2700 was also spotted on Geekbench AI tests running on an Android 17 reference platform. Unlike early test runs, which were capped below 2.9 GHz, this sample shows unlocked clocks, with its Arm "Canyon" prime core reaching 4.24 GHz alongside elevated frequencies across all secondary clusters.

The Exynos 2700 is expected to power the Galaxy S27 series, including Samsung's newest kid on the block, the Galaxy S27 Pro. The Galaxy S27 Ultra could boast the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. More information about the series and the Exynos 2700 should surface as we inch closer to launch, so stay tuned.
