Samsung has discreetly made the Galaxy A08 official via its Ukraine, Serbia and Bosnia websites. The phone is an upgrade over the Galaxy A07s that launched in Jordan recently and brings a large battery, LCD display and an octa-core processor, to name a few.
Samsung Galaxy A08 Specifications and Features
The Samsung Galaxy A08 comes with a 6.7-inch PLS LCD display with HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate. The phone features a teardrop-style notch selfie cutout at the top with a considerably thick chin.
Speaking of cameras, the Galaxy A08 has a 50 MP primary rear camera and a 2 MP depth sensor. An 8 MP front camera handles selfies and video calls. There is also a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security.
The phone is powered by a 6,000mAh battery and supports 25W wired charging. It also carries an IP64 rating for basic protection against dust and water splashes. In terms of performance, the phone is powered by an octa-core processor, which Samsung has not named yet.
However, leaks claim it could be the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset. This is paired with 4 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128 GB of UFS storage. The phone also comes with support for up to 2 TB of storage expansion via a microSD card.
Samsung Galaxy A08 comes with One UI 8 out of the box, based on Android 16. The brand is also giving the Galaxy A08 a surprisingly long software support period for a budget phone, which is six generations of Android OS upgrades and security patches.
Connectivity-wise, the Samsung Galaxy A08 features a 3.5mm headphone jack, dual-band Wi-Fi, dual-SIM 4G, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS and a USB-C 2.0 port.
In terms of pricing, Samsung has not yet revealed how much the Galaxy A08 costs in Bosnia and Serbia. However, the Ukrainian website has listed the smartphone for 10,699 Ukrainian hryvnia (approximately Rs 23,000) for the sole 4 GB + 128 GB model. It comes in Silver, Dark Blue and Green colour options.
