Samsung Galaxy A17 5G with 6 Years of Software Updates Launched in India

Samsung has announced a new entrant to the mid-range "Galaxy A" family, the Galaxy A17 5G. It has officially landed in India with an AMOLED display, the Exynos 1330 chipset, a 5,000mAh battery and finally, a charger in the box. Starting with the display, Samsung has equipped the Galaxy A17 5G with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ 8-bit 90 Hz Super AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass Victus protection and an Infinity-U selfie camera notch. It is home to a 13 MP sensor.

Speaking of cameras, the back gets a triple camera setup housed within a vertical pill-shaped module. It features a 50 MP main sensor, a 5 MP portrait lens and a 2 MP macro shooter.

Under the hood, the smartphone draws its power from the budget Exynos 1330 processor. It is further paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage. The device also supports microSD card storage expansion of up to 2 TB.

On the software front, the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G ships with One UI 7.0 based on Android 15 out of the box. It gets support for Galaxy AI with features like Circle to Search, AI Voice Focus, on-device voicemail and more. Most importantly, the device also comes with support for six years of software updates and security patches. 

Apart from this, the smartphone gets a 5,000mAh battery underneath with support for 25W USB-C charging. The charger is not included in the box, unfortunately.

Lastly, the smartphone is backed by an official IP54 rating, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, single bottom-firing speaker, Bluetooth 5.3, dual-band Wi-Fi, dual 5G SIM support, GPS and USB-C 2.0 charging cum audio port.
