It has been a while since we saw a "Fan Edition" TWS earbud from Samsung. With the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE, the Fan lineup has expanded further. Now, early reports indicate that the South Korean consumer electronics brand is hard at work bringing the second generation of Galaxy Buds FE to life, the Galaxy Buds 3 FE.
Yes, according to leaker Evan Blass, Samsung is reportedly considering naming the 2nd-gen Buds FE as the Galaxy Buds 3 FE. This indicates that the brand will launch the next-gen FE TWS under the "Buds 3" portfolio. Which, more than likely, hints at a 2025 launch window.

That's not all. The leaker has also shared a relatively blurred, albeit legible image of the said earbuds. At first glance, the earbuds seem almost identical to the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, which launched in India last year in July 2024.
However, upon close inspection, the obvious fact becomes clear. The Galaxy Buds 3 FE will carry forward a triangular stem blade design that debuted with the Galaxy Buds 3 series.

It will still have minor differences that will set the two apart. For instance, unlike the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro that came with orange and blue coloured strips to differentiate the right and left earbuds, the Buds 3 FE appear to lack them.
It still has the long vertical black strip that housed the "Blade Light" in the Buds 3 Pro, with a set purpose. In Buds 3 FE, however, it might just be for pure aesthetics.

While the Buds 3 Pro had a glossy lower stem part, the Buds 3 FE may not feature the same. Also, the white variant of the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro got colour-matched white silicone ear tips. However, the Buds 3 FE could only come with black ear tips.
Now, it is safe to assume that the Buds 3 FE are not only borrowing the Buds 3 Pro design, but also will have shared functionalities. Like, the presence of silicone ear tips might suggest that the earbuds will come with ANC (Active Noise Cancellation).

The stem could act as a touch sensitive panel, just like the Buds 3 Pro. Users will likely be able to control the music payback, accept/decline calls and toggle between various sound modes like Ambient Mode and ANC.
Apart from this, the Buds 3 FE can pack features like Google Fast Pair, LE Audio support, Bluetooth 5.4, 10.5 mm drivers, a 9-band equaliser support, Galaxy AI support and more. The charging case might not feature the transparent top lid, but in terms of sound quality, we can expect Samsung to deliver a respectable experience with the Galaxy Buds 3 FE.
