Galaxy S26 Ultra New One UI 8.5 Update Rolling Out
Samsung is now rolling out a new One UI 8.5 update based on Android 16 to the Galaxy S26 Ultra in India. The update is 868.8 MB in size and takes the phone to the February 2026 security patch. The official changelog confirms that this new build is solely focused on system stability improvements and underlying bug fixes. However, it does bring one major feature addition.

With the latest One UI 8.5 update, the Galaxy S26 Ultra in India gains AirDrop support. It brings a new "Share with Apple devices" toggle inside the QuickShare menu and once turned on, allows users to seamlessly send/receive files and media to/from iPhones. This new feature also works between MacBooks and iPads.
It comes after the Pixel 10 series gained AirDrop support last year and is currently going live for the Galaxy S26 and the Galaxy S26+ phones as well. Aside from that, the new One UI 8.5 update has also brought a new Google Play System update with it.
That said, users can head over to Settings > Software update > Download and install to upgrade to the latest One UI 8.5 build. To get the new Play System version, head over to Settings > Security and privacy > System and updates > Google Play system update > Check for update to install the latest version.
