When the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra launched earlier this year, the Privacy Display was one of its standout features. It acts as a privacy shield to protect on-screen content from prying eyes. Now, it seems like the feature is improving with the Galaxy S27 Ultra and is also expanding to the Galaxy S27 Pro.
Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra Tipped with Improved Privacy Display
According to a SamMobile exclusive report, Samsung is improving the Privacy Display feature for next year and bringing it to both the Galaxy S27 Pro and the Galaxy S27 Ultra. This would make the S27 Pro the first non-Ultra "Galaxy S" series phone with the feature.
However, the standard Galaxy S27 and the Galaxy S27+ are not expected to get the feature. The report doesn’t say exactly what has changed. However, an earlier leak from tipster Sawyergalox gives us a hint.

On the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Privacy Display uses Samsung Display’s Flex Magic Pixel technology to narrow the viewing angles. It works well, but the screen looks a bit softer and less sharp when the feature is turned on.
The second-generation version is said to fix this, with sharper image quality and better viewing angles while still hiding content from people. If that’s true, users will be able to keep Privacy Display on all the time without giving up on image quality. Privacy Display can be used for the whole screen, or only for specific apps and notification pop-ups.

Moreover, both the Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra are tipped to get higher screen brightness. This could make the screens easier to read in direct sunlight. The report doesn’t share exact brightness figures yet. For context, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has a peak brightness of 2,600 nits.
That said, the report doesn't reveal a whole lot of details apart from this. The Galaxy S27 series is expected to launch in early 2027, so it’s still a few months away. Samsung hasn’t confirmed any of these details yet, so take them with a pinch of salt for now.
