Samsung is expected to host its next Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2026, where it is expected to unveil the Galaxy Watch 9 alongside its flagship foldables. Ahead of it, a fresh set of Galaxy Watch 9 renders have surfaced online, revealing the smartwatch's design, colour options and available sizes.

Galaxy Watch 9 Carries the Same Design

The Galaxy Watch 9 renders, shared by OnLeaks in collaboration with Android Headlines, offer a 360-degree look at the upcoming wearable. As per the leak, the smartwatch could arrive in Black, Creme and Green colourways, alongside a two-layered watch face.

Overall, the Galaxy Watch 9 retains a familiar design that's largely unchanged from the Galaxy Watch 8. However, the most noticeable difference is the redesigned Active strap, which drops the tiny threaded accents. It also replaces the under-the-strap tuck-in style for a more traditional over-the-strap tuck with a retaining loop.

The strap itself now has a ridge running across the middle towards the clasp and the buckle holes, giving it a slightly serious look. The rest of the watch follows the usual Galaxy Watch 8 design with two buttons on the right, sensor array at the back, speaker grilles on the left and the same squircle dial with a circular screen.

That said, like every year, the watch is expected to arrive in both 40 mm and 44 mm and in Wi-Fi-only and LTE variants. Although the design changes appear to be minimal, the Galaxy Watch 9 is expected to receive a significant hardware upgrade with the Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset, which was announced at MWC 2026. This processor should bring improved performance and power efficiency to the smartwatch, alongside a wide array of AI features.

That said, with the ongoing RAM crisis affecting smartphones, Samsung may end up increasing the price of the Galaxy Watch 9 series. While other specifications of the smartwatch remain scarce, we should hear about it as we inch closer to the launch.

The Galaxy Unpacked event is expected to take place on July 22, 2026, where Samsung will also unveil the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip 8.
